Among the key players to watch is Andy Schmid, the Swiss captain and one of the most successful handball players in the world. Schmid is known for his playmaking skills, scoring ability, and leadership on and off the court.

Other notable players on the roster include goalkeeper Nikola Portner, who was named the best goalkeeper at the 2021 World Championship, and line player Jonas Schoch, who is known for his strong defense and physical play.

The Swiss team will face a tough challenge in the European Championship, as they have been drawn into a difficult group that includes reigning champions Sweden, as well as Portugal and Belarus.

Switzerland will open their tournament on January 5th against Portugal, before facing Belarus on January 7th and Sweden on January 9th. The top two teams from each group will advance to the main round.
